• Negative Emotions

Camrose Primary Care Network | May 5, 2021

Feeling negative emotions like sadness, anger, anxiousness and grief are part of being human.

Grief may come from adjusting to the new normal, losing employment, feeling isolated from family and friends, or the loss of a loved one.

If you are experiencing negative emotions such as grief, don’t be afraid to start a conversation with a loved one or your family physician. You are not alone, they are here to support you.

This #MentalHealthWeek, let’s #GetReal. Name your feelings, don’t numb them.

When we put our feelings into words, we:

    • construct and make sense of our emotions

    • are better able to regulate our emotions

    • reduce cortisol (stress) levels

    • improve our mental and physical health.
