What you should know...

During this exciting time there is a lot to know and think about. Here are some things to consider if you think you are expecting:

The first step is to make an appointment to see your family physician. From there he or she will set up regular appointments to see you through the initial stages of your pregnancy,

At about the 20th week of your pregnancy, your family physician will refer you to the Camrose Prenatal Clinic, where you will find information and resources to assist you through your pregnancy. This will include prenatal classes offering you valuable information about your pregnancy and care of your newborn baby.

As your big day approaches, the physicians at the Camrose Prenatal Clinic will need to see you more frequently to check on how things are going. They will see you...

  • once per month during weeks 20 to 30
  • every two weeks during weeks 30 to 36
  • every week from week 36 until you deliver
  • periodically throughout the 6 weeks after your delivery

And remember...

The Camrose Prenatal Clinic houses a healthcare team to deal with all of your pregnancy needs. This includes; many family physicians and nurses with specialized training in obstetrics. If you have any questions about the clinic, your pregnancy, or your delivery...please ask!
