• November is Diabetes Month

    • Within the current Camrose Primary Care Network (PCN) catchment area the following data regarding Diabetes was reported by Alberta Health Services (AHS) as part of their Central Zone Local Geographic Profile for 2016.  In 2013 5.7% of the population was living with Diabetes and in the last ten years Diabetes has increased 61% from 2003 (males) and decreased 4% from 2003 (females). 
       
    • The Camrose Primary Care Network (PCN) Risk Reduction Program offers support for individuals seeking help to manage health issues such as pre-diabetes, diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, weight management and to prevent the complications that may arise from these chronic conditions. The goal of our program is to work alongside clients to provide support and empower them to make healthier choices. We value our clients as an important member of our team to make the best health plan! There is no charge for the program but a referral from your family doctor is required.
       
    • The Camrose PCN Risk Reduction Program team consists of a registered nurse, pharmacist, dietitian, exercise specialist, behavioural health consultant and your family doctor. Other healthcare and community providers may be consulted and referred to when needed.
